  3.        FixUtil6 is the October 1993 revision of the FixUtils.

  7.              The FixUtils are now all FREEWARE.

  12. For the Lawyers: A limited license is hereby granted such that any 
  13. individual may use these copyrighted programs (see list below) without 
  14. any charge of any kind so long as they are not altered nor are any deposited 
  15. programs or code fragments altered in any way. Specifically, copyright 
  16. notices and logos must display anytime a program or deposited code fragment 
  17. executes.

  26. Additional checking added to CHKBOOT, FIXMBR, FIXFBR, SAFEMBR for the
  27. new crop of directed viruses and some techniques not seen yet but
  28. could be. NoFBoot/SomFBoot now need only 256 bytes as TSR.

  33. FixMBR now generates automatically a copy of the original MBR with
  34. a user designated name of up to 7 characters. This .DAT file should be
  35. stored in a safe place off-line. When changed to a .COM file and executed,
  36. the original MBR will be restored.

  38. On machines having BIOS selection of the boot disk, users may now select
  39. booting only from the C: drive for additional protection from viruses.
  40. If the CTRL key is held down during the boot, SafeMBR, following integrity
  41. checking of the hard disk MBR will transfer the boot process to drive A:
  42. to allow booting from floppy for maintenance purposes.
